Well, you have a choice. You can remove what is in there and replace it with a threaded one or, just use a good quality rubber plug, installed from the outside. I guess you could install it from the inside however, that will require you to get down in the bilge every time you pull the boat. Do not use a cheap plug, simply because it will not last long.....
