Default Re: A New Boat to Check Out

The foredeck was in pretty bad shape with the support underneath completely rotten. The support was removed and a new one made of foam core was placed. It really stiffened things up so that cracks in the transition between the deck and liner could be properly repaired.

A very meticulously engineered jack system was used to level the deck while the new support was glassed in place!

Most of the hatch covers are also being finished up. In each opening, wood has been laminated into place to receive the hinge screws. This is a picture of wood placement in the forward fishbox. The wood strips running lengthwise are simply wedging it into place until the resin dries.

Hinges are trial-fit in the transom baitwell and cooler boxes.

I'll get some more pictures up soon.
