Default Need some gelcoat repair help .. asap .. please !!

Guys & Gals,

My friend is in the process of replacing his trim tabs to larger ones.

In the process of removing the trim tab plates on the transom, he got excited and pried them off.

Well they came off, but with the gelcoat/glass fibers!!
Must have been 5200??

Anyhow, damage has been done and he realized it the hard way.

What would be the recommended fix? and recommended sealant? Lucky for him the damaged area will be covered by the new larger trim tab plates.

As always, Thanks in advance .....
