Howdy,
I bought an `89 20 sf with a `96 ocean pro 150. Compression is 90 across the board. Not 89, not 91. It sat for a while. The owner thought it was over propped as it wouldn`t turn more than 4500wot. I thought it was a carb/ fuel issue. I had the motor baselined by George at G&S locally. Carb job, switch out oil pump for premix, new water pump, and seals. He said that motor was a perfect match for the hull and should turn 5600 wot easy. I ran fuel conditioner and then ring free/ techron at shock level of 1 oz for 2 gals for 40 gals fresh fuel. I have put 80 hrs on it and now turn 51-5200 wot w 50 gals fuel , 3 average guys and a bimini. The hull and deck are solid w/ no intrusion anywhere. Boat does not ride low. Motor sings after hitting 1800. Thx, Sandman |
