It will help if you line up the correct bolt pattern and make a mark on both the new and the tank as they have to be lined up the same way they came off. Another way to test it after it is out or your new one is to put a Volt Ohm meter on it and check for resitanse as there will be none with the float all the way up and more as the float goes down towards the empty postion. Also use a nice torqe pattern (opposites and light until they are all snug)when installing the new unit. craig
