This a very interesting discussion on engines, including the ETEC. Check out the boats and motors on the 1st link. I think with the figures I am seeing, the 250 hp ETEC is more efficent than the 225 on a 3500# hull. Like I have said in the past, I will run my 1989 200 Merc til it drops, then I will consider the 250 ETEC for a repower option. Hopefully I don't have to do that very soon. With the price of gas that would be a 30% saving on gas from I am now.
