Strange engine noise?

the "Cling Cling" noise for every turn of the prop in my engine signifies approx $5.78 an hour @ 4000 rpms [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Or would that be the "Ching Ching" noise? [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

2 possibility

1. the shift linkage is not correctly adjusted (not in neautral). move the gear shifter linkage and if it goes awaym you found your problem.

2. if you have mnetal shavingm suspect internal damage (mine was doing htat ). had to take it apart to find out.

I think almost every outboard does that. My 1998 Suzuki 225 does it as well.
