As vcsjupiter was saying, well maybe in another way. As long as you are going forward you will do just fin. Just don’t put it into neutral and forget reverse.
Now lets ask another question could you mount that big of a engine on that small of a boat. Yes the bass boaters do it all the time but the boat was designed to handle it AND to handle it in FLAT water. The money you would save on the engine would be spent on the boat to re design it beyond the manufacturers intention. So the real question is do you want to re design your Boat???
