WOW! That's like putting bald tires on your car for driving in the rain...an accident waiting to happen. I got a quote just last week from a local company with a good rep to replace a transom on my old 23' Tsunami (not mine anymore), including de-rigging the motor and raising the transom from 25" to 30", re-coring with composite. Written estimate was $4200 to $4500, including color matching the gelcoat. That price does not include re-rigging the old motor as the new owner plans to repower with a Zuke 300 4S, so figure a savings of $750-$800 there. $9500 is WAY too much.
