The glass man that I have doing the repair and I both think something was going on here with some kind of repair, but it really looks like that was as far as the wood core went (note 2 inches of 1/2" thick glass). I should have taken some pictures of the glasswork on the stringers. There were places that the glass curled under and other places that the edges were sticking up. The way the transom looked was consistent with the rest of that area. I'm thinking that somebody was having a bad day at the factory. It's a good thing the boat was over built. Don't get me wrong, I still think its a great boat and plan on keeping it for a long time. Maybe someday I will rebuild it to look like some of the boats that I have seen here.
