I haven't camped in my boat for a number of years, but this set-up worked great for me. I fastened strips of starboard, then used snaps on the outside edge of the starboard to secure the canvas. It kept the water out nicely. It was a little uncomfortable for more than one person to sleep in that area, so I added more strips as shown to extend the raised portion for sleeping. This made a large area that suported cushions. When we went fishing, the boards were stored away
