I will second what wattaway mentioned. A few years ago I blew out a trailer roller and it dug into one of the chines and went all the way through to the CSM. I had to grind out about a 2-3 foot section of the chine to get rid of the void on the outermost edge of the chine. You could tell that the CSM could was not pressed into the mold all the way when the boat was manufactured.
