Rotation direction ?

My lower unit needs to be replaced/repaired due to a bent shaft. I call my guy for advice and the price comparison is close. I get a three year warranty ordering(aftermarket) through ebay and I'd do the install, he says know what rotation you need and he could tell by just looking at it. The boat has twins and its the port side OB. My question is what should I be looking for to find the rotation direction? Do I need to drop the lower unit to find out? The motors do not have a power source for the winter.

port motor - it should be a standard rotation - left hand

look at prop - which way does it move forward ? that will tell you rotation...
