I faired well myself, but there was a lot of flooding around here. Had a few roads wash out and several homes flooded. Edenton has a main street running right through the middle of town and at one spot where it is about 16' above sea level, there was 3 feet of water standing during the storm. Seen water in places I've never seen in my 55 years.

We are about 18 ft ASL here which is high for the area. 28 ft one block west on High St. We had water in the yard for Frances, Jeanne, and Wilma. Wilma got us a new roof. Thanks Wilma you bitch. Got tarped out PDQ and lost little, but some blood. The neighborhood had tractor trailer size debris piles in front of every house after clean up. To understand just how lucky we are, watch footage of Haiti and the Bahamas. That is what a `Cane can do. Bermuda is about to get whacked. |
