However, I agree those boats are not necessarily overpriced based on how much it costs to rebuild one. A new modern gas inboard is 10k alone. The biggest factor in selling these older boats is that most guys can't shell out 30k cash for a used boat as its nearly impossible to get a loan on an old boat. Boats that fall in the 10-12k price range are the ones that sell as this is what is affordable for the common man.

Took me years to find my inboard -- was second in line on at least two boats and both of those were purchased by the first person in line. The one I bought was down in Delaware and I happened to be the first in line. I got lucky and found it as they had it listed incorrectly as a 24' boat.
Kinda like getting a loan on a 72 Chebby C20.
They have no ideeeeer.

Cash is king and not many have that kinda cabbage as discretionary.
