Ed - Bay Engineering makes 5" extensions for the 4 stroke 150, so you can make them 30". I'm not sure that the warranty would cover it, but there is a guy on the Bertram site running a single 150 on his Bertram 25.

Gillie - I have to use some Tab to hold it up, but it'll hang at 13mph.

OK Terry #3, a standing start race between your Bertram 25 with the 115 eTecs and the Merc 150 hp Bertram!! It might take a little bit of time to get the the 1/4 mile marker, however it would be a fun challenge to see if you could drink a beer before they cross the finish line

I had a single one spooled up to 4750 RPM's and tilted the other one up. Pushed that Lockeed L-1011, wide body, Carl Mosley - Miami to Nassau 6,000# contender 18 knots. In power to weight, it's still hard to beat a water cooled chain saw. Us ol' dirt bike riders know there's nothing like being "up on the pipe".

How does it compare to the 2.4 liter 2 stroke? Any regrets at this stage? How does it do with a heavy load?
