Tim, your 1/2 plague looks like it belongs on a Moesly Seacraft. My 21 has 2 pieces just like yours.
Where are you in SW Florida? I'm over on Don Pedro Is.

Thanks again all.
Yea, I was looking at the Desota gathering though I doubt I can camp, maybe visit though. I have 2 vacations planned for Oct, one trip to the keys (hopefully with the Seacraft) and my yearly mancation to the NC Mnts to flyfish. Red, I live near 41 and Pondella near Judd Park, not far from you. So from what I gather it is possible my boat is a very early Moesly boat? Does that seem to be the consensus? Was there a number molded in the fiberglass anywhere that can help? The nameplates were knocked off the sides of course, 3 holes, the 2 left closer together, I'll get a picture if needed. Any know what it looked like? I will probably add the repos from the Moesly site if still available. Years ago I thought of getting the modern Seacraft stickers but the metal ones sound a lot kooler, even if it is a little different than what it originally had. I plan on starting another thread to ask other questions, as I said, I may be a pest here ![]() |

Tim,
All indications thus far is that you do have a Moesly built. In those days, the hull numbers were not molded into the fiberglass, just plates mounted. I have one of the original name plates from the 60's, made of pot metal. I used it for duplication of the SS version posted on this site & also MoeslySeaCraft site. The smaller of the two available IS the original size. Slight modifications were needed for reproduction and "Miami, Fla" was changed to "Classic". See picture of original. If you have holes for the nameplate, that's another indication, as Moesly used nameplates & Potter used the stickers. This is a great site and everyone is always very willing to help another member ... questions are welcomed. ![]()
