89 tracker 23
I plan to go look at a 1989 23' seacraft close by. Is there certain things on these tracker built boats I should be looking for other than soft spots in the floor weak transom and leaking fuel tank? Were they known to have stress cracks in certain areas?

There is nothing wrong with a Tracker hull but as stated above it would be highly unlikely for am unmolested hull to not have soft spots, stress cracks, wet floors and transom, and a leaking fuel tank. I can also tell you that SeaCraft hulls are becoming more rare by the year. Not because people are hauling them to the dump but to bring them back to life considering a new offshore boat starts at about $120k. Bottom line: If you want one you better buy one soon as restoration shops are having no problem selling quality SeaCraft refits.

It’s a center console.
The transom has been closed and duel 4 stroke outboards. Not sure how much rehab has been done to the tank and floors |

Is the current owner able to give you any insight to the extent of the mods? Was the boat every kept in the water? A good look around in the bilge will tell you a lot.

Ken makes some excellent points. The 23' SeaCraft and the 25' SeaVee/Rampone are two of the most popular older hulls to rebuild and because of that becoming very hard to find. One trip to a boat show to check out the pricing on new 23 to 25' boats will tell you why. Shoot a 25' Jupiter "Bay Boat" is a smooth $175 to 200k.....just crazy!!!

Big heavy twin 4 st power on a bracket? Pay attention to the min plane speed. The CG is likely screwed unless care and thought were considered. |

88' 23 Seacraft
Just curious on what you guys think a project is worth. Guy has one close to me that he has removed the floor, installed a new gas tank but ran out of funds. Comes with sheets of coosa to redo the floor, has console, and a tandem axle aluminum trailer.
