Steve-

Steady, steady, The name has some history. I will share it so here it goes:

Ever since I was wee little one I was aboard a sailboat. My folks always had one, still do. Through my teens and twenties I raced sailboats and taight sailing all over the place, from Holland to Lake erie. I was a sailing nut.

The name of my folks boat was/is PRYDE. Their first boat was green and they were Boston Celtics nuts so Pride is was, but to be different, spelled with a "Y".

I became hooked, no pun intended, to fishing and need a name for my boat so being a traitor from sailing and being a selling profesional, TRAYDER seemed to fit I stole the "Y" from my folks and it seemed to stay.

As for the "other" boat I have a feeling it will get much less use after I finish the 20.

HA STEVE
YA, THIS IS MY FIRST RE BUILD AND I HOPE MY LAST. NOT THAT I HAVEN’T ENJOYED THE PROJECT OR AT LEAST MOST OR IT. I AM BUILDING THIS ONE TO USE WHICH IS MY REAL JOY FISHING HERE IS SOUTH FLORIDA. I HAVE ONLY BEEN ON THE WATER ONE TIME SINCE JUNE. USUALLY I AM ON THE WATER 40 TO 50 DAYS A YEAR FISHING AND HAVING FUN, FUN, FUN. IF I DIDN’T HAVE TO WORK FOR MY $$$ I PROBABLY WOULD TAKE ON ANOTHER PROJECT ONE DAY, BUT WORKING CAN REALLY MESS UP A GUY’S TRUE PRIORITIES IN LIFE.

STeve; for a project like you are considering, get the #1 priority straight: DOES IT HAVE A TITLE? As all have properly noted, one can do anything with glass - how do you think they make the plug / mold in the first place? (well, nowadays, they use a multi-axis CNC cutting machine and a CAD program)

Holes in the bottom are nothing to worry about. As long as you have most of the original shape you can bring it back. Making a CC out of a Sceptre, well, the tough part is fabricating a new liner and cap. You would just go out and buy a new console, thats the easy part. As long as your new pieces are 2 dimensional (flat panels and angles) then building most any part is easy with coring (wood, foam, pvc, etc) The other hard part of that project would be the floor hatches and fish boxes.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Fellow-Ship, I'm in your neighborhood.

$300 with a title, thats almost worth doing.

Trayder:
Thanks for the history lesson, that clears that one up. DON"T give up the ship[other].

Scott:
yes......asking $500.oo /maybe I will offer
the man $300.00. i'll see.

The other tom:
titles can be had with some diggin
and help from the men in the green
suits. I've had to do this before on
three other boat/motors/trailers.

Steve

I was under the impression that the boat was for sale for $3500.00 .....If its $300-500 I would go for it especially since this is a second boat and your not looking to have it done for the summer. Can it go in the back yard while you do the work...

If not .... Didnt Trayder say he had some room in his driveway
