Default Re: Think I found my new 23! Need some advice

As for the deck that’s easy if it solid when you step and bounce on it “It’s Solid” if it is spongy and gives you need work done on the deck. As for the Transom that’s not as easy I took a mallet and tapped around the transom that really didn’t tell me that much, as for any outward signs nothing there either, the thing that made me pull the trigger and re do my transom was removing all the fittings like scuppers and drains and screws, then drilling or picking around in those holes, then drilling a few extra holes, I got black soft slime junk everywhere I drilled and picked at. That’s when I came up with the “THE TRANSOM THEORY” which is (WHEN IN DOUBT CUT IT OUT) after I cut it out I had no doubts left it was gone and needed replacement.
