Default Re: Questions about a 1987 23' CC

Hi Ed

Your in the ball park of when Tracker took things over. As far as what year hull to buy...I personally dont think there's alot of difference...bottom line it has the same shape but I dont know if they got light in laying up the glass on the boat (that would be something to check on)..The biggest issue you may run into...as mentioned before in a post...is the quality of the hardware might not be up to par...That being said chances are that in buying an older boat you would most likely replace the hardware anyway....I know that when my boat is done what will be left original is the hull the decks the hull cap and the console....everything else needed to be or will be replaced due to age concerns and corrosion. I wouldnt worry too much…. just look it over well…. maybe even get it surveyed if your not super comfortable with going through the boat...
When I bought mine I basically bought the hull...thats all that I wanted.

Thanks Trayder ... thats the post

Thanks, Gents.

I'll look her over real well this weekend. I hope she hasn't spent any time on the bottom or involved in some major accident. From the pictures it looks like she was recently painted....which can mean absolutely nothing.

Do any of you Massachusetts boys know of the history of this particular 1987 23' C/C? The boats name is "Al-ure" and she is in a yard in Marblehead. She has an offwhite hull, green bottom and a blue & green bootstripe. Supposedly, the owner is some woman (and her dad) who works at either the Corinthian or Eastern Yacht Club in Marblehead.

ED:

If I were you i'd stop giveing out location info. if I didn't already have a 23 I'd be on the way right now to camp out on their door step to hand over the green. And I'd be on my way home with it by 9:00 am.that same morning. This how you can lose a good boat fast.I know, don't wait.
