Default new seacraft owner

i recently aquired a 1971 seacraft that was given to me bcause the friend was moving to arizona. i've owned a whaler for 7 years and am not familiar with this type of boat. i would greatly appreciate any info on this boat. the hull is a 1971 in excellent condition,23ft. with a cuddy. the engine is a 225 I/O with 60 hours, the box at the stern struck me a little.i,ve been unable to get any info about this boat.
i can tell already that i'm going to like it, it's solid all around.
if anyone could give me as much info as what to expect from this rig and what to watch out for, ect. i would be extremely greatful.
finally, what a great site this is well put together and already very helpfull to me. Thanks.

What to expect, hmm. Well you can expect that boat to handle the snotty stuff as good as any in it's size class - it's a perfect hull for your waters.
What to watch out for? Yeah watch out that your friend doesn't move back from Ariz, and wants his boat back!
I know of at least one guy on this site who is probably cringing at the fact that a guy left for Ariz, and gave his buddy in Rhody his Seacraft - and it wasn't him!
Honestly, you're gonna love the boat.A lot of people don't like the I/O setup, but I would say if it runs good, live with it for a while and decide for yourself - they do have their benefits.I'd say you have a good month left to fish it hard - let us know what you think.

TODDKP - SeaCraft did not make a 23 "cuddy" in 1971...Check the serial number on the transon and the last two digits are the year mfg.
Let us know,

Hey Todd, it sucks, it's no good - heck, it's not even seaworthy for those pristine waters you're surrounded by. What you really need is one of those fancy SeaRays instead - ya know those cookie-cutter 28-38 foot boats that go to the porkchop every weekend from Newport & Old Saybrook. Matter of Fact, why don't you dump it in front of Twin Maples and I'll hitch a ride over and take it off your hands....

I have a better shot at casting to a boat at the Snake Hole than "aquiring" a 23 to fish off in front of it

Todd - just kiddin', sweet boat you got there and welcome to the site. Grab the hull ID like Sceptre said and post it or take a pic and e-mail it to me or post it up here... Let me know if you tire of it and want to make a couple bucks on it... Too bad all the fish have up & left, eh ?

I'm over on Narr Bay myself....
