Alan-

Another option for you is to buy a Tsunami/Sceptre that has recently been repowered. This way, you reap the benefits of a good boat with modern, updated power, without having to fork out the big bucks. As we all know so well, boats, motors and trailers depreciate faster than the outgoing tide.

Listed below is a link for a Tsunami/Sceptre with new V-6 Mercruiser motors installed in 1999 that is for sale. The boat is located in the Boston area and is for sale for around $13.5k . Sounds like a great deal to me, especially if the engines were maintained by the owners brothers who are "supposedly mercruiser certified". The boat has been for sale for sometime so I would think you could negotiate the price with the broker.

I think this would be a better and less expensive option for you. Modifying that other dual I/O setup is a lot of work and requires a big bank account.
