From what I hear Suzuki has been building OMC's 4 strokes for years. Not sure after the buyout

I wonder about the waranty too. I think Suzi's have a great warranty from what I hear. Lots of engine manufacturers sell to each other. The "New" Merc 225 four stroke is built by Yamaha. Its seems that there are alot more OMC dealers than Suzi dealers up here that might also be a factor in getting one.

They are made by Suzuki. Both have 3 year warranty I believe. I take my Evinrude 70 4S to the local Zuki dealer because they work on 4 strokes all day....everyday. The OMC dealers work on them sporadically. I trust the Zuki guys and EVERYTHING is identical except wiring and control connections and lower unit spacing(you have to use a different spacer to use a zuki prop on an OMC & vice-versa). I interchange props with Briguy and we just space them differently. I also use a Suzuki samurai oil filter from the autoparts store for $3 instead of dealer for $11.
