One other question. Do they build the trailers to fit your boat(I mean by puting in the bunks or rollers in) or is this something that you do yourself.
Sorry for the stupid question, I have never had a boat on a trailer before. My boats have alwas be to big.

Many "off the shelf" trailers can be adjusted by the trailer dealer/manufacturer to fit different boats. However, some trailers are intended for deep-v hulls and some are intended for boats with other hull shapes.
If you are not really familiar with trailers, I would avoid buying a used one from some guy in the paper who assures you that it will fit your boat! I'm not sure what SoCal trailers cost, but you can get single axle trailers on the east coast brand new for about $1400 that will be ideal for a SC18 - at least that is what I paid for a new Load-Rite last year. |

You can easily adjust the rollers and bunks on any trailer. My cross bar in the stern has a slight "V" to it, and rollers all up the middle that you can adjust up or down 3-4". I have bunks on either side that adjust easily. If you buy new, they will most likely adjust the fit for your boat.

I purchased a Pacific trailer through the Boat House of Anaheim for my 23'Sceptre. Pacific Trailers in Chino built it to spec. and I love it. Mine is overkill but they have all sizes and types. Web site: www.pacifictrailers.com
