The thing about paint is that it will not wear as well as gel coat …especially topside....flip note... gel coat means wax and compound on occasion but can be repaired and with a good glass guy that can color match, you'll never see the repair....the other thing I have noticed .... and a friend who is a broker also has seen ... people seem to prefer original gel coat for some reason .... and I think they get scared by paint ... especially when they hear what it cost to re-paint the boat ....

example ...the Viking I worked on usually had the transom painted once a year .... inevitably a "green" fish would thrash about and leave a battle scar or three ....but that’s a good thing [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] as long as I wasn’t paying for it ....but If you've got a boat like that painting the transom, or anything else for that matter, is pocket change…..
