Hi John
Fairing, well my interpretation, is basically filling in all irregularities in the glass .... such that when painted you cannot tell that this area had holes, damage, irregular or wavy surface.
Involves cleaning the damage out , filling in with epoxy/resin/glass, then sanding till the surface is smooth and continuous. Basically looks like nothing was ever wrong with the area AFTER its painted.
