Default Inspection plates

On my 23, the deck panels are recessed where the inspection plates go in, and the boat came with the pop in plates.I wanted to get (in fact I did), the screw in plates. But the O.D. of the Beckson's that I bought are just a little larger than the originals, and they would n't fit into the recesses in the deck.Anyone know where to get plates that fit?

billybob,

I replaced my inspection hatch with a Bomar inspection hatch. same size as your original.
Go to www. pompanette.com Look for bomar heading,
They come in white, off white, and black.
G8711 is the part #.
I have a 1985 23 cc in mint shape and wanted to keep the original hardware. This hatch is hinged
so you can open and shut the hatch easily. It will never leak if installed properly.

I just replaced the center deck fuel access plate with a viking. I had to replace the whole assemble because the 8" round snap in was just a bit different, but the screw holes all lined up for the outer ring, so it turned out great. I bought directly from Viking. They said they normally do not like to do that but I cried a sob story because there was no dealer in my area and they accomidated me. Good service and prompt shipping.
I need to replace the one in my outboard engine well since it is cracked in 3 places, but don't know what to go with.
I did find the RaBud Inc site in Dania , Fla. they list a 7"x11". My current plate is from Ray Bud, I assume the same, but it measures OD 101/2" X 14 1/8"/ ID of pry up plate is 71/2" X 11 1/2". I wonder if this would be same? I don't have any room to do any cutting on the 71/2 width. Has Anyone replaced this inspection plate?
