John G- Thanks, it is quite light, I can manage a 4x8 section easily by myself at least 1/3 the weight of Marine Plywood?
Otto- yup, no leaning post, need the room in the aft for fishing. I have a friend who runs a Contender 21 for charters and he ordered the boat without a leaning post, I thought it was nuts untill i fished with him, man lots of room and how often can you sit in a 20 ft boat while running along at 30kts? |

Trayder I hear you about hear about leaning post. My boat came with ONE small Todd seat mounted really high and I thought man thats got to go. After a used it a couple of times I would not change a thing. There is tons of room with out the other seat and the one that there is tiny and works as something to lean against. My friends Robalo has the big bucket seats and I never realized how much room thay take up. You have very limited room between the seats and the splash well.

Another option is what Tim Dugan did with the bar stool
![]() Tim had his custom made but I know Pompanette and release marine make some nice Barstools as well |

My seat is removable, I like it because I can take it out when fishing and store it. Some days it doesn't even go in!

Jason-
That looks great so far. Keep up the good work. If you ever need a hand on a Sunday, shoot me an email. I would be happy to shoot down to RI and help you while learning some of the more complex restoration issues in the process. I know the basics (sanding, fairing, grinding, awlgrip prepping, etc) from helping my buddy out at his shop on Saturdays, but normally I don't get to see the more complex stuff that he does during the week. I think the barstool idea is a great solution for the 20. I had a leaning post on my old 20 Mako and it did take up a lot of space. Not that it really mattered because I kinda suck at catching fish!! -Ed- |

Ed-
Thank you for the offer but as af this past weekend I think the complex days are behind me as the deck is installed. I now need to tab it into the inside of the hull and then fair everything. Hope to see you at the Boat show?? |
