Mines is lifted up around 4" currently, just high enoungh to get new bonding in there. I assume the owner before me had it up as well but I can't seem to find any of the bedding compound anywhere? Not even a hint! I can't see Potter leaving it out but......
On mine the deck and stringers sit very close, anywhere from 0-1/4 inch. I know on some other SC's it's much more. Anyway, Bimini if you want pic's of the deck up let me know and I'll send them over.

Can’t really say if it’s a good or bad idea. If you plan on removing the core of the liner when its out, I would think you will need a pretty good means of supporting the liner while its out and upside down. I’m sure you have re-cored a hatch and can see there isn’t much there once the wood is removed. Depending on the space from the liner to the stringers, it could be expensive just to replace the bedding. I had to take part of the transom with my liner when I replaced the transom. The spots above the rear hatches on the transom were tough as nails.
The image thing still doesn't work. here is a link http://www.theboatzone.com/gallery/album01/14_G |

I don't know much about SeaCrafts, but everyone who I talked to about removing the inner liner from a Mako said it was impossible without seriously damaging the hull, liner, or both.
One guy who has done warranty repairs for Mako for over 20 years said he tried to separate a Mako once and never could get te thing to budge. I ended up cutting the floor out in front of my transom and over the rotted stringers. Sure would have been nice to remove that liner though. |
