Chris,

Huh ? How ? Do you mean : take (2) 2x4's on top of each other for strength, mount them low or in the middle of the outside of the transom ( side to side as opposed to top to bottom ), drill through them and the hull and the new transom in a few spots, then bolt tight to sandwich the transom between the hull and the 2x4's ?

Then, use clamps along the top to squeeze there too?. Will this give enough "squeeze" for the entire transom to be sandwiched w/ enough force ?
