NJ,
I had the same problem on my 20cc i/o. I was in the deck drains . The fiberglass resin mix they used came loose and the water ran in. I now routed my deck drains to the transomnand filled the holes thru the bottom. JW |

Yeah that is what I am figuring. How do the new drains workout for ya? Did you put the balls on the outside?

Nj,
Perko Makes a deck scupper with check valves inside of them. These fit pretty well with a minimum amount of work. I used 1" K copper pipe to route the scuppers to the transom and then a 1" thru hull. Connected the pipe to the scupper and thruhull with 1" hose and doubled clamped everything. Have not put the rig in the water due to fishing season, hope to have her wet next spring. I can send some pics of the rebuild if you want. JW Soon to be covered in Fiberglass dust again. |

Try putting some food coloring in a gallon jug with water and pour separatly each deck drain, forward deck storage compartment, anchor locker and forward fish box drain. If it's salt, do you have a seacock for a wash down system?. Wait a day between each and maybe you can isolate the leak.I have a 78 OB 23' and the deck drains came from the factory routed out the transom. I have never had "wet Feet" except a little will back up when at anchor with a couple of fat fisherman like me in the back.
Capt Chuck (shellback) If she asks "how much did it cost?" LIE!
