Thanks for the comments. It would be strictly for looks after a transom re-core, which I would expect to last at least 20 years. I'll be 67 and won't care by then.

The next poor bastard would would have to go in from the inside.

I still think it would look nice and would be cut in the shape of the SeaCraft variable deadrise hullform.
