The big thing is that if you get one of these replies on an Ebay auction - it's most definitely a scam:

Hello,

Before proceeding further you must know that I am currently in Rome, Italy where me and my partner supplied capital for the purchase of a bankrupt stores stock. Now we are trying to sell the remaining stock.

The buy it now price would be $4000 for the engine(with all the
shipping/handling and insurance charges included).

They ship with all the accessories provided by the manufacturer
(controls, prop, remote, cables). You will receive your package in 4-5 working days. I send all my packages having written on them "display unit, no comercial value" or as a gift so you don't have to pay any additional taxes. (VAT included).

Please let me know ASAP if you are interested and I will allow you to bid or we can arrange a private deal to save time and money(in this case the price for will be $3600 for the engine.

Mail me soon,
