Doug,
I spent a week in Destin last year. It has without a doubt the most beatiful beaches in Fla.
I've spent a lot of years all over Fla. and Destin ranks right up there with Marco Island.
Of course Marco has the Ten thousand Islands at there back door. At one time the best place in the world to fish for Reds and Snook.
God I miss that state.

stuart is nice too, only has 1 draw back, here we fish the gulf stream and out of palm beach its only 2 or 3 miles but up in stuart its 15 miles, a bit longer run to the fishes

DO NOT MOVE TO FLORIDA. THE LAST THING WE NEED IS MORE NORTHERNERS DRIVING UP REAL ESTATE VALUES, AND CROWDING OUR HIGHWAYS. I HEAR ALASKA IS NICE THIS TIME OF YEAR.

Actually, I think we've narrowed it down to Sarasota.

We ARE willing to pay too much for real estate and drive in a slow, confused manner without signals of any kind. Our arrogant demeanor is only outweighed by the size of our Mercedes'.

The only problem we have with the area are the redneck Rebels who got their boating cetificates (or Captains Licence) at Super K-Mart on a Blue Light Special. They know only one speed in traffic and have no clue what their huge wakes do to folks not out for a Ye-Ha experience.

Oh ya, don't ever wave to anyone, cause they might think your actually friendly...

Otto, I just read your post and let out a huge Homer Simpson DOOOOOHH! You got me with the Sarasota thing. Of course if we could get all the bayliner people to move to the great lakes and all of the SeaCraft owners to move to FLA life would be grand.

And yes, you are always welcome to Sarasota. I would be happy to assist you and your family in any way possible.
