Default older gil brackets

Does anyone know anything about the older tubular style gil brackets? I know they provide no flotation... anything else?
Found one for $100. If its quality I'm going to grab.

Save your $100. I've read more then once of a broken older Gill bracket. Not worth risking your motor.

Most of those old brackets are steel tube and rust from the inside out.

Is that an open bracket w/o a swim platform?
Did you look at the Seamark? I've been very happy with my ride to say the least.
