The late 70's master anglers do not have any liner along the gunwales, giving lots of room for up to 8 - 9 ft fly rods if you alter the rear holders to have slots like the front holders. You can fit two in each of the top two positions.
The closed liner is a feature that turned me off to earier models, Makos, GWs and Whalers, to name a few.
