Default Re: horizontal rod racks

One great solution to fly rod racks is a suction mounted fly rod holder. I had a pair of "I-Fly" holders that I wanted to mount to the console vertically for quick access, and I had some BIG suction cups from an old standard rod holder. I retrofitted the new I-Fly holders, and they worked so well that, the guy that makes them on the Cape (Bill Strakele) started manufatcuring and selling them with the suction cup mount. My buddy mounted them horizobtally under the gunnel of his new Pathfinder 23V, and they seem to work very well there. I plan to add a couple more to my Seacraft this spring. Here's the site if you want it... http://www.outercapeangling.com/ifly.htm Just make sure you have a clean smooth surface if you go the suction cup route.
