Default Dropped the MOAB!

Don't confuse this post with the Mother of all Bombs, no, I dropped the MOTHER OF ALL BATTERIES in the CC of my 23. Sam's club carries Champion Heavy Duty Commercial Truck batteries from Exide(not my preference) For a 4d 12 volt battery it carries 1000 CCA's and 320 minute reserve capacity. Guess what? It's not 179.99 like in Boaters World, no Just 89.95. I tried all day saturday to burn it down leaving everything on all at once for hours at a time and it cranked up every time. For those of you needinig something a little more tame, the same batteries they carry in the boating stores are about 20 bucks cheeper in Sam's.

Briguy

Are you using one battery or two with this new set up and what are you running for electronics.

Strick, I use 3 batteries, just for extra safety. For engine one battery one I have a starting battery, for engine 1 battery 2 I have the MOAB. I can toggle between 1 and 2 for engine 1. For engine two, I have one Deep cycle/Marine battery.

All of my electronics, bilge pumps and permanantly "on" switches go through the MOAB. I currently have 2 1500 gph bilge pumps wired to sureflo automatic/manual switches, a sureflo 850gph livewell pump, a Leica DGPS, ICOM 402 DSC VHF, Garmin 2010 Color chartplotter(bluechart software is fantastic) with blackbox sounder and 50/200khz temp transom transducer, SiTex CVS 106 Color FF, Raytheon RL9 Radar, AM/FM Marine stero and SiTex gps.(as a backup) All mounted to black 1/2 inch starboard excepth the radar. Perhaps I'll get a picture up this weekend. I alternate between batteries to keep them fresh and if the battery for motor 2 goes down, I have jumpers....or I could do a 4th batt...
