Default Potter and Princeton differences

Can someone please expain the differences betweent the Potter and Princeton hulls. I understand that Bill Potter was was in charge of construction of the boats out of south Florida and the Princeton hulls were built here in Tampa. Is there any difference between the hulls and construction techniques, considering both hulls being the pre tracker era.

1969 thru may 1980 "Potter Built" in Princeton. These hulls are deginated by "SEC" The Company "CSY" took the tooling, molds and built the "23 footer" only in tampa for a year. "CSY" never built a 18',20' or 25' SeaCraft.

Until "Tracker" took over all model hulls they were built by <font color="orange">"SeaCraft Industries Co." This would be designated on the hull number as "SIC"

The last two digits in my hull id number are 81, I think that means that it was manufactured in 81. I guess it is a Princeton hull. Is there an identifying place where the SEC or CSY are located.

It was either manufactured in 1981 or built as a model year 1981. I am unsure what a CSY hull would have for the first 3 letters, but they were only made for 6 months in 1980, so your boat would/should be from SeaCraft Industries (SIC) in Tampa.

Sorry Scott, your confused

"CSY" built the 23' only in Tampa. SeaCraft Industries was still in Miami but Mr. Potter Left in May of 1980.

Last two digits in Bills boat are "81" means it was built in '81 The first three digits should say "SIC"

The HIN numbers are purposely placed above waterline so that fish can't tell what generation of hull you are fishing from. As such, your fishing should be unaffected by the '81 on your transom.

The 27 hulls were also built at "CSY" with
the 23 for a short time.
