That's a great idea . . . I'll bet they'd look really sharp. I never thought of putting a hole saw on a drill press.

If you want angled bezeles. Your going to need a thicker piece of stock and run it thru the tablesaw at say 15 to 20deg. Now you can drill the gage hole 2 1/16. Then you will need a backer board to pickup the long pilotbit and drill the outside dia. say 2 5/8in [experment to see what looks good] Then run it thru a table mounted router to do a round over on the outer edge.
You might be able to not have to have the backer board, if you drill the 2 1/6in hole but don't go all the way thru. Then drill the outside hole, but not all the way thru. Then go back and finish the 2 1/16 and you will have made the outside cut deep enough to pick up the holesaw again and not have it wonder. |

On that almost flat spot, just before the console goes almost verticle. That where I'd use a angled bezle. If your putting them some where else, then just make the bezzle stright. It already has enough angle to make them easy to read.
Here's a pick of the alum anodized bezzles from Gaffrig. [img]http://www.gaffrigperformance.com/images/display/Bezels/Bezels_big/8500_BIG.jpg[/lmg] Take a look here to see how they sized the ID and OD of bezzles. http://www.gaffrigperformance.com/Pr...eSubCategory=6 This is something I'm going to do when I don't have anything else to do. Yea Right! I'd spring for some Honey Teak to coat them with. No maintance. It would make the boat say. "Yea I'm a Classy Bitch" HeHe |

Warthog - That's exactly where I was thinking about when you mentioned the angled bezels. It's a great idea. I don't know if I have the woodworking skills to pull this off, but it'll be fun to try.

Here's a little update on the spooky console. I took a few weeks off from the whole project, but this past week I made a mold for "toe space" and added one coat of primer. The nice part about the console is that you can walk right up and lean against it without bumping your toes
Also planning to add some amber LED lights to the top of the recessed pocket for night fishing. Should be pretty sweet when it's finished. Still needs another few coats of primer and a few days of sanding before it's ready for paint. Here's a few pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

In that second pic if I'm not mistaken I think I see a Hammer Toe? How did you bond it to the cc to make it look so flush? Nice legs too by the way!
