Default 22 lbs Srpinger on a Rapala magnum

So I'm running up the the Anisquawm river heading out to halibut point to troll for bass and blues in heavy boat traffic my 4month old Springer pup decides it's a good time to get the trble hook from one of my magnums haging on the gunnel through her friggin nose! Now i have a dog between my legs with a foot long lure in her snout, another dog running in circles, and my wife freeking out I managed to grab the dog (before she snagged me between my legs) send the wife for the fish plyers and calm the other mutt down without crashing into another boat. Got the hook out. Dog went up in cuddy and gave me dirty looks rest of the day.Did manage to catch a couple of decent blues.
Capt. Chuck, You never warned me about this! Tight lines. Scotty.

Scotty,
Glad to hear the pooch is alright. My parents' yellow Lab used to go swimming after the tube and worm rigs, but we were tight to shore so he'd swim in to the beach and we'd pick him up. Luckily he never hooked himself. My brother's yellow Lab, on the other hand, caught himself a 2oz bucktail jig a couple years ago. My bro said it was the funniest thing seeing this jig hanging from the dog's lower lip. I guess having any dog bred to retrieve on a fishing boat is a bad idea.

Man ..... I heard the dogfish have been thick up in that area! Glad to hear poochie is fine.

While we are talking pets and fishing, I was off Nahant last weekend and there was a guy fishing off the rocks with his cat!

My yellow lab had a similiar expierence when she picked up a wahoo lure and got it stuck in her lower lip and than the other trebble got stuck in her paw.

I had a lab for 15 years before we got the springers and I thought that I had been through about everything a dog could do to me (even lost a tooth) these two are gonna write some new chapters in the 101 ways to screw up your masters head book. ps did I tell you the Lab once ate a flat of two year old but
ter fish sharking 70 miles offshore? made for an interesting chum slick! Tight lines.Scotty
