Default live well questions

I'd like to get some different ideas on a live well for the 20" MA. (I'm sure they used live bait back in 78 so I wonder why this important component wasn't building into the design of the "Master Angler" series.) Almost all of the fishing we do here on the west coast of Florida requires some live bait. It needs to be no less than 30 gallons with the ability to pump lots of water flow through it. I'll probably look for a "temporary" set-up and if at all possible I'd like to avoid running plumbing across the transom and the floor until I start on "Phase 2". (Phase 1 of my project is getting her on the lift without making any major fiberglass modifications. We're coming in to some of the best fishing of the year over the next three months.) I have about three more weeks until I float her and the issue of a livewell came up yesterday. Most of what was discussed would have to wait until phase 2 and for now just use a cooler with a small Rule pump and aerator.

Questions: Does anyone have any experience with removing the splashwell to gain some room near the transom? Does anyone have any good designs for a livewell that is actually incorporated into the transom, similar to the old Aquasport 17's? Any pics, comments, and ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: live well questions

I have a livewell on my transom that works well. I sealed off the one in the floor. It is now floation. I also took the splaswell door out and went with a smaller one. Works great. Email me and I will send you some pictures. Mine is a 79 18 which has a very similar layout to yours
