Default fishing in maine..anyone ???

I know we have a few Maine residents on the site. My neighbor is heading up to the Biddeford area this friday. He inquired about the local fishing. He is bringing his boat with him and wondered what type of fish he might catch.I used to always troll for makeral in the saco river and surf cast for strippers at fortunes rock. Any idnformation I can pass along would we great.

Default Re: fishing in maine..anyone ???

I was in the Kennebunkport/Biddeford area the weekend before last (7/29-8/1). I brought my boat with me and launched from the excellent state ramp (free!) on the Saco River in Biddeford.

My fishing wasn't too successful, but that's mostly because I had several impatient children on board. There were plenty of guys trolling right down the river, which I found very aggravating. Fishing in tight to the rocks outside any of the beachfronts from Cape Porpoise up to Old Orchard should prove productive. The seas were pretty choppy the weekend I was there, hopefully the weather will be calmer for your neighbor.
