Default knock off's

Well I have found another SC 23 knock off. It is called the Quonset Point 25 . I was wondering if any of you RI guys have seen this. My brother has been looking for a 25-26 foot inboard and was going to check this out. We were actually thinking about getting an old 23 inboard and stretch it 2 feet and put a diesel in it.
From what I can tell the knock off count is growing, these are the ones I know of:
Cape Cod Marine 26
Silver Hawk
Quonset Point 25
Any others?

How about the shared ancestry of SeaVee, Whitewater, Contender, Formula, etc......I'm told they all came essentially from Magnum?

Stretched SeaCraft 23's are pretty common is some areas, just check the back end of Boattrader here in Florida and you can buy brand new hulls that look suspiciously like a 23'+2' for very short money....and thin glass from what I hear

The original Contender 25 came from the Almand 25. Where the Almand 25 came from I do not know.

I opened the Qounset link and I have to say thats a pretty nice looking boat. The jet drive allows you to navigate some pretty shallow water. That would be good for me in my fishing area. My boat now has a duo prop setup making the outdrive quite large. Does 95k $$ seem reasonable for the set up described ?

Catman,
When compared to the Cape Cod Marine 26, $95K is reasonable. I think the CCM starts at that price with the base Cat diesel.

How about this one...

Scott...That 27 islander has some nice lines. A little carolina flair ?? I would put the yanmar turbo diesel in that and cruise all day. I love the center console boat but with the 3 kids now and my wifes aversion to the sun and my daughters fair skin ..well you know..Maybe when my sons are older and my daughter is into horses or something I can get the center..sorry to be long winded..I like that boat

I actually found the Island 27 as well, talked to them today and they are now being built in Bristol, RI by Bluefin Boats. The hull was derived off a north FL commercial boat. They are now in the process of doing one with a diesel and a jack shafted outdrive.
