If this helps- I have a SC 18 -78. Motor history-78-90- 115 Evinrude. 91-present-115 mariner. Both pushed the boat well. For me weight is a factor as I use the live well and this makes it stern heavy to say the least. Also the current price of fuel makes the 4 strokes attractive, but again its weight factor again.. I think the 4 strike Suzuki and the Yam 115s are worth looking at... you do lose speed performance, but I am mostly nearshore fishing and speed is not the main factor for me. Good luck-JS

yamaha 4strk 115 hands down best choice!! 2nd choice is a

bombardier e-tech 115 either choice 4strk wont be as fast as far as fuel goes they're gonna be very close. maintenance factor e-tech none for 3 yrs. i would go with either of those 2
