Swim Platform Install ?
Still 'putzing' around with installing a full transom , teak swim platform on my 23' Tsunami w/ an I/O. The question - after I have figured out my waterline w/ a loaded boat and full tank of gas, how high should the platform be mounted over that line ? Thx |

I have a full width teak swim platform on my Tiara pursuit 22. Of course the platform needs to be high enough so the outdrive can tilt up. My brackets are mounted to the transom above the waterline keeping the bolts out of the water. I would take a guess and say my platform is about 8" below the top cap. I can try and take some pix if you need but I'll need help downloading them. |

Re: Swim Platform Install ?
I'm having my drive put on tomorrow just so I can see how far up she tilts. I probably will throw her in the water to confirm the water line ( after full tank and boat fully loaded ). I was thinking that I would mount the platform 3-4" over the water line. Does that sound about right ? I am fairly sure that the bottom bolts will be under water. If so, I will probably over size drill the holes and fill with epoxy to avoid any rot. How many inches, over your waterline, is your transom mounted ? |
