Default Foam in the way of fittings and scupper repair?

Any issues with removing some of the foam between the liner and hull? I'm installing new cleats and rod holders, and I need some swinging room. Much of the foam, which looks like it was sprayed on, has pulled away from the hull anyway, so it seems to be just in the way at this point.

Also, what about the foam that is between the outer stringers and the hull (on the bottom of the rear seat compartments and live well - (my boat is a 20 I/O), and there is a good 2-4 inches of foam at the rear corners - I'm planning on redoing the scuppers and that foam is pretty much in the way of a solid repair also.

Any other 20 I/O or 23 I/O owners out there strip this stuff back in these areas?

Promise to post some pics soon, but the weather in the NE these past four weekends has been terrible, so repairs and photos are on hold.

I removed the inner liner from the deck to 3inches below the top deck as many others here have done so you should be fine.

Same goes for the deck drains.
