Default 23 Sceptor Rear live well trouble

You may remember I was talking about this a few months ago. I hate having the live well full so I deceited to plug it from the outside. I was going to install a pump but deceited to bail it every once in a while for now. Well I put the boat in the water over the weekend and I was hosing her out and the water started puddling in the side gutter about mid ship. I guess Mr. Potter balanced these boats off pretty close. So I opened the hatch filled it half way and she started to drain fine. I guess when the water warmms up a little I'll go swimming and pull that plug and go back to the way it was designed to be. Any thoughts.
