bennett M120's on 1978 20\" live well question
I'm installing Bennett M120's but the port hydraulic line will exit the transom into the live well. Tom AKA tabman has been very helpful with information and has offered to provide longer lines to allow me to mount the pump in the center console and has offered an external line connection actuator which would allow the port line to enter thru the transom above the live well, however this would entail running the line externally attached to the inter face of the transom across to the starboard stern compartment.
Is this the best solution or have others had success in running it into the live well and securing it to the aft livewell wall and exiting thru the center wall into the bilge? my concerns in running it thru the live well are in sealing the hydraulic line hole in the transom and livewell side partitian and in protecting the portion of the line inside the live well. I know others have been faced with this problem. What works best? Jim Crosby |

Re: bennett M120's on 1978 20\" live well questio
On my 1970 20SF, The starboard side I redrilled the holes
on the tab 2 inches out from center. This placed the through hull fitting where I needed it. It did not affect the tab at all. The tabs on mine are 9 x 24 Bennetts. Just drill your 1/4 inch holes real slow through the stainless. Hope this helps. See ya, Ken

If your 20 is the MA with the deep baitwell . . . Then you might consider the cutting and installing a clear inspection plate inside the well (where the existing hole is)
You can pick up a shorter pipe and compression fittings for you tabs from any hardware store (regular plumbing hardware). Also the nice part about the clear inspection plate is that you can install an LED light behind it (and now you have a light inside the baitwell for night fishing). Just make sure to put lots of 5200 around the inspection plate . . . so you don't pump bait juice into your your bilge. |

Re: bennett M120's on 1978 20\" live well question
Capt. Jim
I put a 45* elbow fitting on the port side between the transom & live well. The pump is in the starboard side under the bait box..This is on a MA.LOOONG arms are a must Put the 45 (w/ tube connected )with a long nose vice grips, hold in place while someone screws in the tube with the trim tab attatched.takes some measuring to get it right so Ya don't wrap the plastic tube ..then attatch the trim actuator..put the tabs as far out to the side as possibleCut out for the scuppers..I have some photo's on the site below.I can e-mail you more. Just south of Ya.e-mail me. Scream'n Reels'

Here's a few pics of my baitwell. In the first picture the clear plate was removed, so you can see the compression fitting and the line for the tab.
